In one of our old Russian films the main character said: ‘Happiness is when you are understood by…’ Mutual understanding is a permanent wish,”gold goal” of the whole mankind of the world. The lack of this understanding brought and brings people, nations to Global Problems: wars, diseases, ecological problems. Where is the way out – Diplomacy. Diplomacy – “the art and practice of conducting negotiations between representatives of groups or states. It usually refers to international diplomacy, the conduct of international relations through the intercession of professional diplomats with regard to issues of peace-making, trade, war, economics and culture. International treaties are usually negotiated by diplomats prior to endorsement by national politicians.” (from Wikipedia). Diplomacy –cultured way of drawing attention to national ecological problems. We have support of lots of people. It means that this problem is very important for people all over the world. We offer a lot of ways how to decide ecological problems. Maybe some of them will come in handy for saving nature and ecology. Thanks to Doors to Diplomacy, we worked as ambassadors. We met with the Head of Health Security of Kurgan region, the Head of government of Pritobolniy area, journalists of local newspapers, with professors and students of Kurgan State University, Chemist with qualification catalis and adsorbcia, representative of international scientific charity fund of K.I. Zamaraev – Olga Soboleva. Our team isn’t doing only theoretic work; we also help to local population. Galina (our member) did monitoring of water in Kurgan region twice a year. It’s OK that her work is constant. Next year new classes of medical profile of our Gymnasia will join Galina. And it’s bringing a great contribution in deciding problems of water pollution. We have already noticed one of the main problems of the mankind - the ecological problem. Water pollution is a part of it.
Visit to the Kurgan State University
The aim of our project is not only to analyze the water quality, to write
about water pollution, but to communicate with different people and to invite them to work with us.
So, some days ago we visited the Kurgan State University, where we told the students of the fourth course of chemical faculty about water pollution problems and about our project.
At the faculty of the University, we were met by the Professor of Chemical Sciences Ann Ricova. Ann Ricova invited us to the classroom, there we got acquainted with the Professor of Pedagogical
Sciences Natalia Drevnitskaya. At that moment she was lecturing for the students, all of them were glad to speak and to listen to us. We used the computer presentation and acquainted the students with Kondoleezza Rice’s speech.
The first was Irina Ivanova (our teacher of biology), who started to describe the project.
Mary Matveeva told the students about this project in English language.
Anastasia Kulikova was the next. She told about the project using more details.
Mary Bubnova was the third speaker. She showed some photos of our project, there were: rivers and lakes of Russia. She hoped that our project would be appreciated.
The fourth participant of the project was Galina Bugueva. She demonstrated all the results of water quality monitoring, she analyzed the quality of drinking water from eight Kurgan sources and made important conclusions.
Then the students asked many questions about our project.
It was pleasant and useful to communicate with students - the future specialists of environmental protection.
